S&P 500 Average Group Performance

Earlier today, we sent out a report to clients highlighting the historical average returns for the month of July for S&P 500 groups going back to 1990.  During the month of July, there are eight groups that have averaged gains of more than 1% for the month, while only three groups have averaged declines of more than 1%.  

In last month's report for the month of June, all the groups we highlighted that historically outperform the S&P 500 rose and averaged a gain of 2.23% (though Thursday morning).  Groups we highlighted that have historically underperformed the S&P 500 during the month of June saw an average decline of 0.79% so far this month.
