Growth vs. Value

The S&P 500 is up 12.07% year to date, and below we highlight how the S&P 500 Growth and S&P 500 Value indices are doing as well.  (Click here for more information on how Standard & Poor's categorizes S&P 500 stocks as either growth or value.)

Although it's not by a wide margin, the S&P 500 Value index is actually outperforming the S&P 500 Growth index so far in 2012.  Growth is expected to outperform value during bull markets, but S&P 500 value stocks have been keeping up just fine over the past few months.
