S&P 500 Average Hourly Returns in 2012

The S&P 500 is up 8.39% year to date, but how have we gotten there on an intraday basis?  Below we take a look at average hourly returns for the S&P 500 since the start of the year.  Since the market opens at the half hour mark at 9:30 AM ET, we use the prior day’s close through 10 AM ET as our first “hour” of the day.
