S&P 500 Posts Largest Last Hour Rally Since 7/24

The last hour of the trading day certainly has not been kind to the bulls lately.  Since the 9/14 closing high, the S&P 500 has declined in the last hour of trading on more than two-thirds of all trading days.  The trend of last hour declines took a break today, however.  With a gain of 0.43% in the last hour of trading, the S&P 500 broke a streak of seven straight days of declines in the last hour of trading.  The index also had its best last hour performance since 7/24.
