Percentage of Stocks Above 50-Day Moving Averages

Below we highlight the percentage of stocks in the S&P 500 and its ten sectors that are currently trading above their 50-day moving averages.  As shown, 61% of stocks in the S&P are trading above their 50-days, which is a big comeback from where the reading stood just a few weeks ago. 

There are some big differences in underlying breadth among sectors.  In the Energy sector, 95% of stocks are trading above their 50-days, while less than 50% of stocks are above their 50-days in both the Financial and Technology sectors.
