50 Best Performing Russell 3,000 Stocks Year to Date

For anyone looking for momentum stocks to analyze over the long weekend, below is a list of the 50 best performing stocks in the Russell 3,000 so far in 2011.  There are currently 12 stocks in the index that are already up more than 100% year to date.  Pharmasset (VRUS) leads the way with a gain of 148.07%, followed by Radio One (ROIAK), Alon USA Energy (ALJ), Vonage (VG), and Travelzoo (TZOO).  Weight Watchers (WTW) is probably the most well-known name on the list of 2011 winners, and it's a name that we featured in late February for its remarkable performance.  WTW is currently up 107.36% year to date.
