Last Week The World Was Ending. This Week Everything is Copacetic.

In just one more example of how sentiment in this market turns on a dime, the S&P 500 finished up 5% this week after a 5% decline last week.  As a result, the market and nine out of ten sectors finished off the week within their normal trading ranges.  The only sector that is still oversold is Consumer Discretionary.  For that sector and the rest of the market for that matter, sentiment heading into the current earnings season is certainly a lot less positive than it was last quarter.
