S&P 500 Financial Sector 7-Day Winning Streaks

The S&P 500's winning streak came to an end yesterday at six days with its decline of 2 basis points.  The S&P 500 Financial sector continued its winning streak, however, and it's now up 7 days in a row.  This is the 26th 7-day winning streak for the Financial sector since 1990.  It's also the first 7-day winning streak for the sector during the current bull market that started one year ago today.  The last 7-day win streak for the sector came back in December 2006, and the sector declined 0.09% on day 8 following that streak.  Historically, the sector has averaged a gain of 0.04% on the day after a 7-day winning streak, but it has only been positive 36% of the time.
