ISM Services + Manufacturing At a Three Year High

If economic activity is hitting a lull, then the monthly ISM indices must be missing it, because both of them have seen nearly uninterrupted improvement since their lows in late 2008.  In the chart below, we show an average of the monthly ISM Manufacturing and Services reports.  As shown, the combined indices are currently at their highest levels since May 2006 (54.45).
