A Look At Telecom

The S&P 500 Telecom sector has risen sharply over the past month or so, even as the overall market has done nothing.  As shown below, Telecom is up 12.39% since its close on October 26th.

Only 9 stocks make up the S&P 500 Telecom sector.  Below is a table of these stocks sorted by their performance since October 26th.  As shown, Sprint (S) is up the most during the current rally with a gain of 24.84%.  Qwest (Q), Verizon (VZ), Frontier (FTR), CenturyTel (CTL), and AT&T (T) are all up at least 10% during the rally as well.  Most of the names below also have nice dividend yields.  FTR yields the most at 12.28%, while Q, VZ, CTL, T, and WIN all have yields above 5%.
