Apple (AAPL) Ends a Record Run

A couple of weeks back we highlighted how Apple Computer (AAPL) was on the verge of setting a record for the longest streak of consecutive days above its 50-day moving average (DMA).  Since then, AAPL went on to break that 23-year old record, but with today's sell-off, the stock is poised to end the streak at 188 trading days.

The other stock we mentioned in our prior post was Google (GOOG).  Two weeks ago, it had already set a record for the longest streak above its 50-DMA, and it remains there today with 104 trading days of closing above its 50-DMA.  With the stock trading at 585 and its 50-DMA currently around 545, GOOG still has a ways to go before its streak comes under pressure.
