Strong Pre and Post Labor Day Performance -- Best and Worst Performing Stocks

Bill Barnhart of the Chicago Tribune mentioned our work in the Market Watch column of this morning's paper.  He cited a recent B.I.G. Tips report highlighting that this is the first time the Dow has been up more than 50 bps on the day before and after Labor Day since 1988, and only the eighth time since 1945.  Below we highlight the best and worst performing stocks in the Russell 1,000 over this 2-day period.  Stocks that have gone up the most represent stocks on the minds of investors looking to put money to work for the remainder of the year.  We also highlight the stocks in the index that are currently trading the furthest above and below their 50-day moving averages.
