High Yield Spreads Reach a New High

After a brief respite, High Yield corporate bond spreads (per Merrill Lynch data) finished the day 460 basis points above comparable Treasuries.  This eclipses the previous high of the current period from August 16th (459 bps), and indicates that last week's relative calm in the markets may have just been the eye of the storm.
