Coming Up For Air - POOL Finally Rises

Yesterday, we noted that POOL was down 14 days in a row -- the longest losing streak in the stock's history.  The post even drew attention from James Altucher over at TheStreet.com.  Stop the presses -- the stock finally went up!

I've owned this stock in the past, I don't now, and it's been one of the most reliable performers on any exchange, over the past decade.

Investors forget one thing as they run for the exit. Regardless of how many new pools are getting built, the existing ones, and there are many, need to be maintained, if only to keep the real estate agent happy who is selling your home.

I believe that the real estate slump has one more year of blood letting and then things will stabilize, returning to the historical norm of 3-5 percent annual price appreciation.

At that point, I'd gladly own POOL stock. Heck, I'd even buy it now if I had some spare cash.
